Pinesmoke Residency - Our Mission

Our Mission supports artistic development by providing creatives from diverse backgrounds and disciplines with the time, space and resources to create new work. Our unique location and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration distinguishes our program, fostering a vibrant and dynamic creative ecosystem. The residency offers exhibitions, workshops and other events that make art accessible to the wider public, fostering community engagement, and promoting cultural exchange. We believe creativity can change lives, inspire dialogue, and promote social change.

Application

The Residency is in the process of applying for non-profit 501(c)(3) status. We are not currently accepting applcations or reviewing unsolicited proposals.

Residency Location

Pinesmoke Residency is located in a valley between the San Jacinto Mountains and Santa Rosa Mountains, adjacent to the San Bernadino National Forest. Sitting at an elevation of approximately 4,000 ft, Pinyon Pines takes its name from the Pinyon Pine (Pinus monophylla) trees native to the area.

 

Resident Guests and Visitors

Pinyon Flat Campground (1.7 miles) is located nearby Pinesmoke Residency on a first come first serve basis. Pinyon Flat is an 18-site first-come first-served campground located within the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. Surrounded by a tranquil desert landscape and nearby Santa Rosa Wilderness Area, this campground is great for those who like to hike, especially when the springtime flowers are in bloom.
